Project Overview:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Agent to work on a new build substation project for Scottish Power. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a Principal Contractor for a 1-year project with potential for further opportunities on other sites. The successful candidate will have the responsibility for overseeing the project delivery, ensuring the highest quality of work, and maintaining safety standards across the site.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in the delivery of the project, meeting quality standards within the determined timescales.
* Review method statements and risk assessments, ensuring full compliance with set procedures.
* Chair pre-start meetings with sub-contractors and attend handover meetings with the pre-construction team.
* Issue contractual correspondence and notices to sub-contractors at the appropriate times.
* Maintain accurate site diaries, highlighting potential risks.
* Monitor and control day works for subcontractors to ensure work aligns with project requirements.
* Ensure the site complies with all Health & Safety regulations .
* Oversee the day-to-day operations and provide on-site leadership for a diverse team.
Qualifications & Requirements:
* SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
* First Aid certified.
* CSCS card holder.
* SPEN WI-1 Authorisation (Specific to Scottish Power).
* Minimum of 5+ years experience in a similar position, particularly in large civil projects (£35m+).
* Confident IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office .
* Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and manage a team effectively.
