This permanent position involves working within an innovative and prestigious environment, focused on creating and maintaining lifeboats to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Installation, modification, and repair/maintenance of marine structures and equipment for lifeboats in refit.
2. Engaging in a variety of boatbuilding disciplines, including epoxy composite repair, vessel strip down and assembly, deck fitout, and assembly of components.
3. Working from engineering drawings and standardised work processes safely and efficiently.
4. Collaborating within a multi-disciplined team to ensure timely and budget-compliant refitting of lifeboats.
Job Requirements:
1. Relevant City and Guilds or NVQ level 3/BTEC qualifications, time served apprenticeship, or equivalent experience.
2. Strong carpentry skills and experience in boat production, marine refits, and repairs.
3. Experience with epoxy composite materials and laminating.
4. Ability to work to stringent quality standards.
5. Multi-skilled attitude and approach, capable of handling various boatbuilding tasks.
6. Efficient and safety-conscious work habits.
