Service Manager required to head the companies Reading service office. Must have experience in Air Conditioning/Chiller/HVAC and managing service engineers.
The company specializes in chilled water and heat pump systems, equipment, application, service and maintenance. They also provide a comprehensive service on all air conditioning systems including split systems, VRV/VRF systems, Air Handling Units, Fan Coil Units, etc.
Job Requirements
1. Proven relevant work experience and consistent track record of achievement in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning industry.
2. Sound technical knowledge and understanding of air conditioning and chiller systems.
3. Management experience and leadership ability.
4. Good communication skills and confident personality.
5. Strong organisational abilities and multi-tasking skills.
6. Commercial awareness and contract tendering experience.
7. IT knowledge and familiarity.
Job Responsibilities
1. Day to day management of branch service engineers and service support team, including checking on engineer and support team welfare, advising on and resolving problems, supporting with instruction and training, and ensuring high standards in all duties.
2. Day to day management and handling of client requests, including actioning new enquiries with quotations, identifying additional repairs, reacting to issues on site, and resolving client queries.
3. Achieve depot revenue budget and maintain depot margin.
4. Ensure all maintenance renewals are sent promptly and priced correctly.
5. Review all engineer worksheets daily and comment on corrections or praise.
6. Nurturing engineer and support team learning and career progress, completing yearly appraisals and actioning findings.
7. Approve all engineer and support staff holiday requests and liaise with Human Resources (HR).
8. Ensure all branch work activity complies with the company's health and safety systems.
9. Report any accidents and/or near misses to Service Director.
10. Ensure engineers receive regular in-house instruction and attend external training courses as required.
11. Ensure engineers have necessary equipment and tooling for safe and professional repairs/maintenance.
12. Maintain good housekeeping of service office, warehouse, and surroundings.
13. Attend quarterly service management meetings.
