Thinning excess apples on the tree to help the crop, making the other apples grow bigger. You will be trained to take off the right number of apples and also recognise quality defects.
Approximately 1 months work( with potential for further work for the right candidates) To start around mid June depending on the harvest/weather.
Hours are generally 7.3am to 16.00/16.30 with 45 minute break, 5 days a week, but there may be more or less work dependant on the harvest/weather. This position has the possibility to have some flexibility in the working days/hours.
Both hourly and piecework rates £11.44 hourly rate. Apple thinning to mainly piecework. Please be aware the the above pay rates may change from 1st April once announced by Government.
