What you will be doing Becoming an apprentice is an important decision and it involves making a commitment. It takes time to learn new skills, but the Apprentice Team Leader, service areas and mentors will be on hand to supervise and train you. There are opportunities available across multiple service areas at WDH. You will be working alongside passionate and experienced colleagues in a busy, inclusive environment and gain the necessary knowledge, skills and behaviours to make a positive impact on customers. This year we have an opportunity to join the Communications and Marketing Team in our Corporate Services Directorate: The Communications Team provides internal and external communications, public relations. reputation management, marketing, design and publishing to a variety of stakeholders. We also manage our online presence on various social media channels such as Facebook and X. Marketing and Events The Marketing and Events Team make sure that the WDH brand is communicated in a positive way in order to meet corporate objectives. We do this through a wide range of techniques which include the development and production of creative marketing publications, advertising, digital channels and promotional materials. In addition, our team provides support to ensure documents meet WDH's brand guidelines and Plain English requirements so that information is simple to understand and this includes offering it in alternative formats such as large print, audio CD, Braille and other languages. Corporate events such as the Love Where You Live Awards and Star Awards are managed and run by the Marketing Communications team with support from the Engagement team. Media and Public Relations The Media and Public Relations team overall aim is to always promote and protect WDHs image and brand in everything that we do. As a team we promote the good work that we do as a business within the media and among our many stakeholders, making sure we get maximum coverage from press releases online and in local, regional, national and trade media. We provide regular items for the Employee Hub and website. As a team we also support awards submissions across all areas of the business. Above all we are looking for someone passionate about the role of marketing and media with great communication. What training do you get? As part of our apprenticeship programme, you will receive up to 2 years of training and gain a nationally recognised Content Creator Level 3 qualification through Baltic Apprenticeships. You will need to commit to completing all coursework and assessments as part of your apprentice-ship qualification. Dependant on your successfully completing the apprenticeship standard you will then have the opportunity to explore your future role in WDH. Our apprenticeship programme also offers further opportunities of personal and professional development and an insight into wider business operations. You will receive mentorship and support in learning your role and the procedures within the service area. You will have the opportunity to attend internal and external meetings and job shadow across the service area including helping develop links and partnerships with external agencies.
