Role Synopsis:
We are looking for a Marine Operations Lead to join our UK Regional Logistics Team within the bp Solutions, Logistics Services organisation. The role will report to the UK Regional Logistics Manager and will work closely with other Regional Logistics Disciplines and our Central Technical Teams as well as with our Regional Logistics customers, stakeholders, and suppliers.
The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for, but not limited to, providing contractor management for our Logistics Marine contracts within the UK Logistics operations, playing a vital role in delivering safe, compliant, reliable and efficient services to our UK offshore assets.
The role will also serve on the Regional Incident Management Team as supporting emergency response duties, thus it is a requirement for the candidate to reside within 1 hour travel proximity of the bp Aberdeen North Sea Headquarters.
We're embracing the hybrid working approach, meaning this position would be split between remote and office working (60:40 ratio).
Key Accountabilities:
1. Acting as the Contract Accountable Manager (CAM) for all Regional Marine Logistics Contracts.
2. Engaging with internal and external partners to deliver regional strategies and when appropriate interact with suppliers during the sourcing processes.
3. Through process, ensure that Contractors meet BP’s requirements to operate safely, effectively and deliver mutual business value.
4. Delivering day to day contractual operational oversight and direction.
5. Deliver Logistics Marine activity within defined OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
6. Providing operational input into regional Cargo Movement operations (incl. Supply Base/Port).
Essential Education:
Degree or equivalent qualification in Procurement, Supplier, or Supply Chain Management and preferably with Marine Logistics experience preferably within the offshore/energy sector.
Essential Experience and Job Requirements:
1. Mastery level experience in Logistics supply chain operations preferably within the Energy industry Marine sector.
2. Demonstrable experience in the contracting and management of Marine Logistic vessel services.
3. Strong communication, networking and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to communicate effectively with a wide cross-section of internal and external customers and partners to Senior Executive Level.
4. People leadership and stakeholder management experience.
5. Contractor management skills.
6. Marine operational experience preferred but not essential.
7. Operational and safety performance of the contracted Marine services.
8. Defining business demand and managing approvals to conduct sourcing activity.
9. Supporting the Contractor Selection process in conjunction with procurement and central Marine Technical teams.
10. Manage Contractor performance delivery throughout the duration of the contract.
11. Leading and confirming that the Contractor is aligning with and understands the upstream contractor management process and requirements.
12. Verifying contractor competence systems are in place and being followed.
13. Drive Continuous Improvement (CI) of Contract performance to increase value delivery.
14. Work with key stakeholders to define and implement Performance Improvement Plans where necessary.
15. Clarifying, overseeing and managing risks, understanding and overseeing risk mitigations and their effectiveness associated with the scope of work, and confirming the contractor can demonstrate that equipment and personnel meet contract requirements.
16. Driving a culture of continuous improvement for logistics Marine performance and continuously seeking out operational improvements to reduce risk and increase efficiency.
17. Ensures personal compliance with bp safety leadership principles and demonstrates strong leadership of bp's values & behaviours.
18. Monitoring, reporting, and analysis of Marine performance management information (MI) and data sets to identify areas for performance improvements and operational efficiency.
19. Risk and HSE management including in-region risk processes and reporting including risk reviews, emergent risk identification and notification, risk action plan development, monitoring the quality of risk action closure and management of the bp risk action tool as required.
