TRAINEE FINANCIAL PLANNER - £38,000 - £40,000

We are recruiting for a Trainee Financial Planner to join a very well-established wealth management company based in Stockport. You will be based in lovely offices and be part of an inclusive and supportive team. We want someone who is passionate about financial planning and keen to pursue a career within Financial Planning/Wealth Management. The role of Trainee Financial Planner is a great opportunity to move your career along within a well-respected and well-established wealth management company. You will work in a very friendly team where you will be involved in every area of the business – you will be dealing with real people, not just numbers!
The duties:
1. For the first 12 months your duties will be within a supportive role but with an extensive amount of client contact.
2. Responsible for all preparations for planning meetings – updating cashflow forecasts, summarising action required, etc.
3. Attendance of a structured training programme to enable you to become a knowledgeable financial planner.
4. Writing suitability reports.
5. Attending planning meetings to take notes, learn and digest contents of meetings and take sections of the meetings when appropriate.
6. Work closely with the team of Financial Planners/Advisors.
7. Sit on the Investment Committee.
8. Conducting extensive research as required for clients.
9. Ad hoc duties as required.
The person:
1. Completed Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.
2. Passed at least one “AF” exam.
3. Keen and motivated.
4. Passionate about Financial Services and Wealth Management.
5. Experience of working with capital gains tax, investment bond encashments, tapered annual allowance, etc.
6. Willingness to learn and develop.
