As part of our continued expansion, we are seeking a meticulous and proactive Bookkeeper / Credit Controller to join our finance team.
Role Overview:
This is a dual-role position encompassing bookkeeping and credit control responsibilities. You will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely payment collections, contributing to the company’s overall financial health.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain accurate financial records using Sage 200 and Xero .
* Process invoices, payments and bank reconciliations.
* Oversee accounts receivable, ensuring prompt collection of outstanding debts.
* Conduct credit checks on new and existing customers to mitigate risk.
* Chase overdue payments professionally and in line with company policies.
* Prepare and issue statements, reminders and credit notes as required.
* Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
* Support with month-end and year-end processes.
* Assisting with preparation of VAT returns.
* Assist with cash flow forecasting and reporting.
* Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders regarding financial queries.
* Implement and monitor cost control initiatives to improve financial efficiency.
Key Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in bookkeeping and credit control.
* Strong proficiency in Sage 200 and Xero.
* Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills for managing customer accounts.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Good understanding of financial regulations and credit management best practices.
