We require an enthusiastic and conscientious clinician to join our professional and supportive team to provide patient focused paediatric and special care dentistry for people in the community with more complex needs who are unable to accept care in general dental practice.
Tees Community Dental Service provides Consultant led level 2 and 3 Paediatric and Special Care Dentistry for, including adults and children with additional needs both in primary and secondary care settings, throughout the Tees Valley. A caring and empathetic manner is essential.
The challenging and rewarding work of community dentistry spans a wide range of services with opportunities to practice all clinical facets of dentistry including treatment under inhalation sedation and general anaesthesia in the hospital theatre setting.
The post offers opportunities for training and development, and the clinician will work primarily in Guisborough, as well as within other clinics the Teesside area.
Please note, the post is currently based in Guisborough however will also involve working at other Teesside facilities as per needs of the service.
Full registration with the General Dental Council. Although, a postgraduate qualification is not essential, it would be considered an advantage.
The successful candidate will be an experienced dentist possessing the necessary skill, patience and tact required in the provision of dentistry for adults and children with additional needs as well as have experience in delivering care under conscious sedation and general anaesthesia.
Working within the Consultant led dental team duties will include the treatment of children and adults with a range of additional needs encompassing physical, sensory, intellectual, mental, medical, emotional or social impairment or disability or a combination of these factors.
The successful candidate will also be involved in supervising trainees and supporting the ongoing development of the wider dental team as well as participating in the departmental audit programme.
In addition the successful candidate will assist the Community Dental Management Team with the administration, planning and development within the department and wider organisation when required.
