Group Compliance Director
Sheffield (hybrid working)
The Group Compliance Director will lead all aspects of hard M&E services to ensure organisational statutory compliance and provision of an effective physical environment on behalf of our extensive client base. This will include the review, preparation, implementation and control of compliance systems and processes. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our clients’ safety and compliance through the effective governance of maintenance and planned maintenance activities. Safety, risk-reduction, and commercialisation are your key focuses and drivers. You will ensure contractual arrangements are delivered, risks are mitigated, and commercial opportunities are maximised, thereby contributing to the overall success of Bellrock.
Key Responsibilities:
1. You will be responsible for the setup and ongoing quality of hard FM reactive & planned preventative maintenance schedules. This role involves strategic planning, data management, and continuous improvement to ensure the reliability of schedules and the effective utilisation of asset information.
2. Manage and mentor the compliance team, overseeing their personal development ensuring the team is well-equipped to support the wider business in all compliance matters.
3. Oversee the onboarding of new suppliers ensuring all procedures are followed and comply with internal and external processes and procedures.
4. Drive a culture of compliance across the business by delivering training and providing advice and guidance to other departments on risk and regulatory requirements.
5. Evaluate existing compliance frameworks, making recommendations for improvements, and ensuring that all regulatory policies are documented, communicated, and properly implemented.
6. Conduct regular internal compliance reviews, audits, and risk assessments to ensure that business operations align with legal standards and best practices.
7. Regularly review and update compliance policies to reflect any changes in UK ensuring the business remains proactive in its compliance efforts.
8. Work closely with senior leadership to provide regular reports on compliance and risk management activities, as well as offer strategic input on compliance-related issues.
9. Optimise delivery schedules to create a cost benefit for the organisation.
Skills & Experience:
1. Substantive experience in managing compliance within the built environment.
2. Excellent working knowledge of built environment regulatory frameworks.
3. Strong understanding of facilities management / maintenance techniques, asset management principles, and data governance, including change control processes and contract variations.
4. A working knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation.
5. Knowledge of SFG20 models and principles.
6. Microsoft Systems (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.) – Intermediate level.
7. Ability to produce high quality documentation to support divisional function.
8. Possess good communication skills, both verbal and written, including accurate spelling and grammar and the ability to give explanations clearly.
9. Presentation skills.
10. Membership (MIWFM or above) of the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management is desirable.
11. High level attention to detail.
12. Analytical mindset with the ability to assess data, evaluate risks, and make informed decisions.
13. Initiative and commitment to continuous improvement.
14. Ability to prioritise own workload with minimal supervision and use of own initiative.
15. Ability to work quickly and calmly, especially under pressure and in emergency situations.
16. Excellent communication skills and an active listener.
