Job Summary
We are looking to appoint a Deputy Director Quality - Infection Management and Vaccination to undertake the senior system leadership role and drive the infection management and vaccination optimisation strategy. This will be aligned to national strategy, utilising a quality improvement approach with a focus on leadership, professional standards, and practice development. The post holder will ensure that ICB exercises its functions effectively, economically, with good governance and in accordance with the terms of the ICB constitution.
The individual will need to be able to provide expert clinical advice alongside driving the design, commissioning and delivery of new services/improvements for infection management, inclusive of health protection and antimicrobial stewardship across Devon via the Integrated Care Partnership.
Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will have demonstrable highly developed knowledge and experience of NHS infection prevention and control practices. They will also have experience and knowledge of quality improvement, clinical leadership and developing new services within the areas of health protection, IPC and vaccinations.
As a member of the senior ICB team, they will be committed to creating conditions for effective positive, working relationships between the ICB and provider collaboratives and a range of NHS Organisations, alongside working with colleagues within the Nursing & Quality and Medical Officer's directorate.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
* Relevant Masters-level degree supplemented by specialist training or equivalent level, i.e. Infection Prevention and Control.
* Recognised Infection management Course (ENB 329 and IP&C degree) followed by practical consolidation working within the field of infection prevention control.
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery council or the Health Care Professions Council.
* Ability to oversee and be responsible for the budget setting for the infection management workstream and understand the interdependencies.
* Must have a strong understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy and how these impacts on the overall strategic objectives; implementing and adapting as required.
Experience Essential
* Significant knowledge and experience across multiple management disciplines including for example quality improvement, workforce, programme management, strategic planning, transformation and financial management.
* Significant experience of successfully operating in highly political sensitive environment.
* Significant experience of co-ordinating strategies in complex and challenging environments.
* Experience of holding overall responsibility for identifying and managing high level risks.
* Experience of leading the development of briefing papers and correspondence at Chief officer and board level.
