Technip Energies UK Operating Centre (T.EN UKOC) is a unique engineering contractor, combining the global strength of Technip Energies with a strong local presence in the UK market. We are based in numerous locations across the UK, including London and Milton Keynes, with expertise to deliver sizeable projects in the UK and abroad. About the role
The UK Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager supporting all the UK Offices, Projects and Proposals plays a crucial role in driving HSE excellence and fostering a safety-focused organisational culture. Ensure that the HSE management system processes are implemented on UK Operating Centre (UKOC) proposals and projects, in accordance with T.EN standards and ISO 14001 & 45001 requirements.
Role responsibilities include:
1. Act as the focal point of Projects and Proposals Departments for HSE operational matters.
2. Implement and maintain a strong compliance culture according to the TEN Global Standards, all applicable regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
3. Design, implement, and coordinate T.EN HSE management system for UKOC Projects and Proposals.
4. Support and follow-up UKOC Projects and Proposals on HSE aspects (regular reviews, site visits).
5. Provide technical support with HSE teams to Engineering, Construction, Commissioning and Startup, Operations, Legal, Contracts, Procurement, Management, and other functions regarding HSE program execution.
6. Drive HSE project self-verification and oversight, reviews, gap analysis, and audits.
7. Conduct HSE assessments/inspections of project construction activities to monitor compliance with HSE requirements including contractual commitments, UK laws and UK regulations, and the projects HSE plan.
8. Lead HSE incidents investigations on UKOC projects, conduct root-cause analysis, recommend corrective actions and ensure effective execution.
9. Interface with Clients and/or other stakeholders on Projects and Proposals HSE matters.
10. Define the applicable HSE KPIs with HSE Projects and Proposals managers.
11. Participate in and lead meetings with customers, team members, and contractors/subcontractors to advise them on HSE requirements and progress of Key Performance Indicators.
12. Promote and champion key initiatives to improve HSE culture and performance across UKOC Projects and Proposals.
13. Provide specific T.EN HSE trainings to Projects and Proposals (e.g. Pulse).
14. Assess HSE performance of the suppliers and subcontractors at prequalification and execution stages.
15. Participate in project HSE workshops like HAZID and ENVID.
16. Engage with UK regulatory agencies, industry groups, and external partners to stay informed about best practices and emerging trends.
17. Stay informed about emerging UK HSE regulations, trends, and best practices, and recommend appropriate actions to ensure compliance and improve EHS performance.
18. Prepare and present regular Project reports to senior management on EHS performance, initiatives, and areas for improvement.
19. Oversee maintenance of third-party databases, safe work practices, and documents related to clients/potential clients.
20. Develop project documents, e.g., HSE&S Management Plans, ERPs, Site HSSE Manuals, HSES Bridging documents, CDM Implementation Plans, etc., as needed.
21. Contribute to and oversee support to Tendering in completing HSE questionnaires and requested documents and statistics.
22. Work with Subcontracts to prequalify potential subcontractors. Review and approve subcontractor HSE programs prior to mobilisation.
23. Seek opportunities for Risk Reduction Projects to reduce risk in various project phases.
24. Promote and participate in corporate ESG initiatives, e.g., training, volunteering, etc.
About you:
We'd love to hear from you if your profile has the following:
1. Masters degree (or equivalent) in HSE.
2. Extensive working experience acquired on construction sites, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry or Energy.
3. Good knowledge of HSE management systems applied to construction/fabrication sites and projects.
4. Extensive knowledge of UK HSE Laws, Regulations and Requirements.
5. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
6. Ability to influence and support the organization's progression regarding HSE considerations.
7. Capacity in understanding working processes.
8. Strong communication, meeting management skills and analytical capabilities.
9. Extended knowledge and understanding of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 requirements.
