A look into the role The Accountant reports directly to our Financial Controller and will play a key role in producing accurate accounting information for the Finance team and the business in general, liaising directly with the finance team and budget holders. Working as a Company Accountant your duties will include: Preparation of management accounts. Preparation of year end statutory financial statements & liaise with external auditors. Completion of statutory returns. Preparation and submission of VAT returns. Management of credit sales accounts ensuring direct debits are processed, credit limits are maintained, and overdue amounts are dealt with promptly. Evaluation of financial statements to include variance analysis. Assistance with budget preparation. Intercompany reconciliations. Routine reporting requirements for the business generally and specifically for budget holders. Skills for Success Joining us as Company Accountant the minimum criteria youll need is: Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent professional exams. Experience of accounts preparation. Experience of control account reconciliations. Experience of journal postings, accruals & prepayments. Experience in preparation of VAT returns. Experience in preparation in statutory returns. Experience in year-end audit. The Attributes youll need include: A sound understanding of accounting software principles. Excellent communication skills and the ability to plan and complete work within deadlines. Analytical skills. It is desirable if you have: Experience in designing and using computer based financial models Experience in fixed assets management Experience in budget preparation Are we right for you? This is a full-time position working 36.5 hours per week. Working hours will be 8:45am-4:45pm Monday to Thursday and 8:45am-3:45pm Friday. Hybrid and flexible working arrangement available.
