Inventya is one of the North West delivery partners of Innovate UK Business Growth, supporting Innovate UK’s strategy to help some of the most ambitious innovative SMEs to grow and scale. As part of this programme, Inventya is seeking to recruit a Senior Innovation Growth Specialist to join the Team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This role is a key part of delivering Innovate UK Business Growth strategic funding & finance support to SMEs. Innovate UK Business Growth (previously Innovate UK EDGE) is a key part of the UK innovation agency’s deep investment in the pioneering businesses that drive economic growth. It is a publicly-funded service available to all high potential small to medium sized innovation-driven companies, including Innovate UK grant winners.
We are currently recruiting a Senior Innovation & Growth Specialist to support innovation led businesses based in the North West UK to achieve their growth ambitions. The role will identify ambitious high growth innovative SMEs and support them in accelerating their journey to significantly grow and scale.
The Senior Innovation & Growth Specialist will be of exceptional high calibre and capable of being a combination of coach, mentor, critical friend, and champion to this exceedingly demanding group of client companies. It is mandatory to have experience of supporting and advising SMEs and senior management teams at various stages of the business life cycle.
Requirements
* Facilitate a holistic analysis of businesses to gain an in-depth understanding of its current performance and potential for growth.
* Assist clients to prioritise issues and identify potential courses of action.
* Support clients to develop and implement their own long-term innovation commercialisation plans.
* Provide a combination of advice, coaching and mentoring, that will help clients manage the issues and risks associated with their business.
* Account manage a portfolio of clients and deliver bespoke 1-2-1 tailored support focusing on:
* Where appropriate connect clients into the local, regional, national and international innovation ecosystem.
About you:
* Good financial, analytical, reasoning and decision-making skills.
* Ability to assess business plans, financial accounts and ancillary information.
* Able to express ideas clearly, both verbally, face-to-face, by telephone, video call and in written communications and actively listen to others logically and accurately.
* Business acumen and experience to credibly mentor Senior Managers.
* Experience of leading workshops in developing and pivoting business models in response to changing market perceptions.
* Experience of being directly involved in new product or service development.
* Application of ‘Lean start-up’ principles to ensure responsive and effective, dynamic business strategies for innovation fuelled growth (minimum viable product, business model pivoting, value proposition, etc.).
* Able to help the companies establish clear, impact driven measurable goals for its innovation strategy with alignment to the overall business growth strategy.
* Effective in identifying problems, seeking pertinent data and recognising important information to solve complex problems and deal with new issues.
* Actively participates as a full member of a team, effectively contributing and sharing information.
