About the Role
A top 100 Birmingham firm, known to us as a longstanding client, is looking to add an experienced Trust Caseworker to their Trusts team on a full-time basis. The firm offers well-equipped offices in an impressive setting, close to commuter links. The Trust Caseworker will work with a cohesive team of lawyers, administrators, and fee earners to deliver high-quality trust administration services.
Responsibilities
* Inputting data into the firm’s trust accounting systems
* Managing and administering trusts, including preparing accounting records and HMRC returns
* Assisting with tax return completion and tax deduction certificates
* Communicating with banks, investment managers, and other parties regarding funds and investments
* Liaising with various parties to administer trust assets, obtaining instructions and forwarding them as needed
* Making payments to beneficiaries
* Managing files under supervision
Skills and Experience
* Extensive experience in Private Client / Trusts
* Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel or similar software
* Good written English skills
* Numerical proficiency and experience manipulating data in spreadsheets
* Experience preparing trust accounts and related tax documents
* Ability to build strong working relationships
* Clear and empathetic communication skills
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
