We are delighted to be hosting a Paediatric & Neonatal Nurse Recruitment Open Day on Saturday 22nd March 2025 at The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust and would love for you to attend and meet the team. Running from 10:00 until 14:00, this will be held in our new Oasis Staff Health and Wellbeing Center based on Craven Road opposite the main entrance to the hospital.
Staff will be on hand to discuss the support and development we can offer, and we can answer any questions you may have.
You will be given the opportunity to have a tour of the hospital, meet our clinical teams and other key staff from the Trust. You will have the chance to have an interview on the day, if you are successful, you will walk away with a conditional offer!

Main duties of the job
There are few things more rewarding than working with children, particularly when you know you are making a difference to their future. Dolphin and Lion is a 44-bed acute paediatric ward with a designated High Dependency Unit and designated Oncology beds.
The Ward cares for children and young people 0-16 years of age with a variety of medical, surgical conditions including ENT, orthopaedic and shared care oncology. Our purpose-built ward offers family-centered care and a pleasant supportive learning environment. We are looking for Registered Nurses or Nursing Associates with excellent communication skills, enthusiasm to progress and highly motivated team players. We can offer commitment to your personal and professional development and offer a comprehensive preceptorship package.
We also have the advantage of two ward-based Practice Educators who work closely with all staff to promote learning opportunities. In addition, we also offer external development with opportunities to participate in academic modules relating to Mentorship, Care of the Critically Ill Child (HDU), and other specialty study days. Successful candidates may also have the opportunity to work at times in our other Paediatric services which includes Paediatric ED and Paediatric Short stay/Obs Bay. Rotational posts also available to neonates.

Job responsibilities
Buscot Ward is a Local Neonatal Unit with 16 cots. 2 ICU, 6 HDU, 8 Special care and a 6 bedded Transitional Care Unit. We are looking for Registered Nurses with neonatal experience with excellent communication skills, enthusiasm to progress and who are highly motivated team players.
We can offer commitment to your personal and professional development and offer a comprehensive preceptorship package. We also offer the Neonatal course opportunity. We have a full-time Practice Educator and are developing the Neonatal workforce including a Family Integrated Care lead and are working towards BFI accreditation. Rotational job opportunities with Paediatrics available.
You will need to be able to:
