Position description Working closely with the Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for checking drawings & designs for accuracy and completeness prior to release. Reporting to the Senior Engineer - Design, your primary responsibility will be checking component and assembly drawings before release. Perform detailed dimensional and bill of material checks. Check and mark up drawings to BS8888 as required using Adobe Acrobat. Liaise with design engineers and dimensional control groups as required to ensure that the appropriate dimensions, notes, and controls are clearly communicated in the drawings. Work with Engineering and Design teams to resolve discrepancies as required. Record key checking metrics, e.g. drawing errors, originator and number of times drawing checked prior to sign-off using MS Excel. Generate and present material to customers and key internal and external stakeholders as required. Assist in the generation and implementation of Design Office procedures & guidelines. Education/Experience required A degree in mechanical, automotive, electrical, or aerospace engineering or the ability to show capability through proven experience. Minimum 3 years experience in design in the specialist automotive or motorsport industry or be able to show that your experience is transferrable to an advanced engineering environment. You will have a good understanding of engineering and be able to adapt to mechanical, composite and electrical systems as required. Good knowledge of BS8888 and the theory and application of GD&T Literacy in Siemens NX and Teamcenter and working knowledge of CATIA V5 would be beneficial. Good working knowledge of proprietary PC software, e.g. Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Work with a level of independence, respond quickly to issues and to maintain departmental standards.
