Are you an empathetic Occupational Therapist who has experience within Paediatrics?
Pulse is now seeking a Band 5 (at least one year post qualification) or Band 6/7 Occupational Therapist to work within a paediatric service at an innovative private trust based in Ongar, Essex. The post is available to start as soon as possible, offering part-time hours per week for an ongoing period.
The postholder will carry out the assessment of young person’s needs, delivering therapy in the centre, training and advising parents on strategies and supports. The successful candidate will carry out visits to home/school/college when needed.
Some duties within this post will include:
1. Ensuring that young people are prepared for the transition to adult life
2. Fine motor assessments
3. Managing own caseload efficiently
4. Treating patients with complex needs, learning difficulties or biomechanical problems
5. Liaising with other healthcare professionals
Skills and experience needed:
6. Relevant degree/qualifications in occupational therapy
7. Current HCPC registration
8. Previous experience working within a Paediatric service – Ideally NHS
9. Encouraging attitude
10. Ability to think outside the box
11. Be compassionate and empathetic
12. Good team work skills
