Job Description
East Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership is committed to providing relationship-based focused interventions for our families and communities. We are looking to recruit to a variety of social worker posts which promote a strengths-based, family-minded approach. We seek motivated social workers with diverse experiences to help us deliver excellence for our children, young people, and their families.
We have a number of posts across our children's services. These include our Youth Intensive Support, which can support young people up to the age of 26, and our Intensive Family Support Team, which supports families with children under 12 years (including pre-birth). If you have experience working with children, their families, and/or young people, we are keen to hear from you.
If you have a passion for direct work with families and are eager to join us as we strive to deliver Scotland's Promise, then we want to hear from you. In East Renfrewshire, we pride ourselves on our whole system 'Signs of Safety' strength-based approach to assessment and intervention and our commitment to meaningful participation with our families, ensuring that relationships are always at our heart. We aim to balance families' strengths and work together to decrease risks and worries with solution-focused, family-owned plans.
As part of our commitment to this, our interviews will be held on the 12th and 13th of March and will include a parent and young person panel. We also want to give you the opportunity to meet with us during an open evening on the 6th of February to allow you to ask questions and find out more about being a social worker in East Renfrewshire.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. It is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children and protected adults. In addition, if you have lived or worked in any country outside the UK in the past 10 years, there may be a requirement for an overseas police check.
If you are not currently registered with SSSC, you will commence employment as a Social Work Assistant (Grade 7 - £29,745 to £31,954) until full registration is obtained.
The successful candidate will be required to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
Please note - all applicants will be asked to provide proof of their right to work in the UK, and any offer of employment will be conditional upon verifying documentary evidence before employment commences. Further information can be found here.
Please note East Renfrewshire Council does not provide Visa sponsorship.
