Vice President, Business Development (Space)
The Vice President of Business Development is a strategic leadership role responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with the objectives of the Space & Astronomy vertical.
This individual will oversee efforts across various markets, including Space, Astronomy, Science, and Defence, in different regions such as EMEA, APAC, and North America.
Key Responsibilities:
* Achieve and exceed stretch order intake targets from lead generation to contract award.
* Expand the opportunity pipeline within specified business sectors, generating effective leads.
* Understand customer business needs and deliver tailored marketing proposals by leveraging the full product and solution portfolio.
* Act as a bridge between customers and internal technical experts to promote technical capabilities and solutions.
* Monitor market trends and future customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
* Continuously track competitor activities and recommend necessary actions to maintain a competitive edge.
* Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies, providing regular progress updates to senior management.
* Create accurate pipeline forecasts and action plans to meet business targets.
Skills and Experience:
* Demonstrated success as a Sales Leader in business development and sales roles.
* Extensive knowledge of the Space industry and a solid network of industry contacts, including primes, agencies, and governmental entities.
* A proven ability to achieve growth with Tier 1 & Tier 2 industry stakeholders.
* Experience managing and motivating international teams to achieve high performance.
* Strong presenting, negotiating, and influencing skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
* Detail-oriented, results-driven, and capable of handling a dynamic and evolving international work environment.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with continuous process improvement and changing priorities.
