Role Overview:
We are seeking two experienced and motivated accountants to join our team. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in accounting, taxation, and financial reporting, with a focus on working within an accountancy practice. He/ She will provide support in managing a diverse client portfolio, prepare financial accounts and cover various aspects of taxation. The candidate will also assist in the development of accounting business in the company. The role provides an excellent opportunity for career progression.
Key Responsibilities:
* Bookkeeping and Accounting:
* Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
* Review and control of invoices process, payments process and bank reconciliations.
* Manage expenses control.
* Assist with monthly payroll processing including payroll payment and employee expense claims.
* Prepare month-end closing for group companies.
* Small business accounting.
* CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) accounting.
* Liaise with external accountants as needed.
* Financial Statements & Reporting:
* Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP, or other relevant accounting standards.
* Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and deadlines for annual filings and tax submissions.
* Taxation:
* Prepare and review corporate tax returns, VAT returns, and personal tax returns for clients.
* Provide partner support in tax advisory services, including tax planning, structuring, and compliance advice.
* Keep up-to-date with changes in tax legislation and advise clients accordingly.
* Management Accounts & Advisory:
* Lead on the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts, offering insights on performance and helping clients make informed decisions.
* Assist clients with budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and financial planning.
* Provide business advisory services, including profitability analysis and strategic financial advice.
* Client Management:
* Provide support to the director in the management of a portfolio of clients, including individuals, SMEs, and larger businesses across various sectors.
* Serve as a key point of contact for client queries, delivering excellent service and maintaining strong relationships.
* Systems & Process Improvement:
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and systems to enhance efficiency and client service.
* Utilise accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks) and recommend technology improvements where appropriate.
Procure to Pay:
* Manage P2P reports, including Invoice Registration, Invoice Processing, Payment Management, and E-Procurement.
* Procurement Planning, development and production of work plans to assist with cost improvements and provision of a workplan to ensure budgets appropriately to reflect initiatives.
* System Administration, Automation and Integration.
* Category Management, provide an approach that demonstrates value across the company linking financial, efficiency and health outcome benefits delivered.
* Strategy Development, provide, deliver and maintain the procurement strategy using relevant industry templates and best practice guidelines.
* Requisitioning, provide an electronic solution for raising and authorizing requisitions and able to convert requisitions into Purchase Orders.
* Transformation Advisory Services, program management and development of e-procurement transformation and provide strategic procurement advisory.
* Procurement solutions & technology design, transformation services.
Requirements:
* Qualifications & Experience:
* Minimum of 4 years’ experience in accountancy practice, with exposure to dealing with a diverse client portfolio.
* Strong knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations.
* Proven ability to prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, management accounts, and tax returns.
