Accounting Technician Apprentice Trainee Location: Hatfield Contract Type: Permanent Hours: Full Time, 37 hours per week Starting Salary: £26,937 per annum increasing with service up to £32,247 per annum We are proud to be working with Hertfordshire Constabulary who are offering an exciting opportunity to join their Finance department as an Accounting Technician Apprentice Trainee and study towards a qualification with the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT). What will you be doing? The Finance department forms a critical function in the organisation to ensure that funding is best utilised to provide the best quality policing service to the people of Hertfordshire. The Constabulary will offer successful candidates a wide range of experiences through a variety of placements across the finance function from budget setting to producing the statement of accounts. Successful applicants will be funded to achieve a Level 3 AAT qualification (with the option to extend to Level 4) through Apprenticeship Levy funding which includes 20% off the job training. In addition, applicants will be required to study in their own time in order to pass exams and progress through the qualification. What do you need? Successful candidates will have or be predicted to attain at least GCSEs graded 4-9/A-C (or equivalent) including Maths and English, have a passion for Public Sector finance and the drive to be a part of an evolving Finance department fit for the future of Policing. Shortlisted candidates will be required to pass a verbal and numeracy reasoning test prior to being invited to demonstrate that they meet the essential entry requirements through a presentation and interview.
