Our Natural Stone site in Halifax processes over 250 tonnes of stone daily and you could be part of this winning team! We’re currently looking for a hard-working and experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our industry-leading facility in Halifax.
So, what's the role about?
You will be responsible for carrying out a range of planned and reactive engineering activities on-site. It will be your responsibility to ensure the continuous running of the plant by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment.
Our stone processing machines are a variety of sizes and some of the tasks can be challenging so you’ll need to be comfortable working on your own and at height. You’ll work on various types of equipment including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems.
Safety is of paramount importance to us, and the working environment deems it necessary to wear RPE equipment and hearing protection at all times.
If you value your weekends, this is the role for you! You'll work Monday to Friday, alternating days and nights, 5 x 8-hour days and 4 x 8.25 hour nights + 1 x 7 hrs.
What are the skills required?
* Good working knowledge of Electrical Maintenance & Engineering with some Mechanical Engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
* Time served/apprentice, ideally trained in a similar position with appropriate Electrical Qualifications such as City & Guilds Electrical Engineering & 18th Edition.
* Good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues.
* Practical hands-on approach and happy working in a dirty environment.
* Have significant experience, understanding, and knowledge of the maintenance of a variety of plant.
* Experience in electrical fault finding, defect rectification, and routine maintenance activities.
* Ability to interrogate/understand maintenance problems to provide accurate plant condition information/recommendations.
* Excellent communication skills, dealing with operatives, Team leaders from both maintenance and production.
* You’ll need to be comfortable with working at heights i.e., ladders, cherry pickers, and scaffold towers.
