Support Worker
Are you a Support Worker with experience of working with adults living with autism and / or learning disabilities? Are you looking to take the next step in your career? Discovery are currently recruiting for a full time Lead Support Worker (37.5 hours) to join our team at Jasmine in Glastonbury.
About the role:
At Jasminethe people we support enjoy a variety of things in and out of their home, some examples of this are: going to the zoo, music events, live shows, bowling, cinema’s, eating out, coffee’s and cake, adventure days and many more things. The people who live at Jasmine are always first in line to try a new experience.
As a Lead Support Worker your role is all about ensuring that the people we support live happy and fulfilled lives, whilst coaching and supporting your colleagues to deliver great support. The people living at Jasmine require support with every aspect of their daily support, we are looking for someone who will still continue to develop independence and allow as much choice by them, through being pro-active with your approach and inspire others to follow.
What does the role as Lead Support Worker look like at Jasmine? Some key elements of this are listed below.
1. Being a role model to colleagues, ensuring that you always display the organisational values, follow support plans and policies and procedures within your daily practice.
2. Role modelling all of the processes in place organisationally and within Jamsine.
3. Inducting new colleagues.
4. Completing additional delegated tasks and managing your time to achieve this.
5. Advocating for the people we support.
6. Demonstrating and creating new ways to promote the independence of the people who live at Jasmine.
7. Be able to handle challenging conversations, be it internal or external to Jasmine.
8. Mentoring colleagues.
9. Assessing competencies of your colleagues and coaching them where required.
10. Being able to effectively support each Individual living within Jasmine.
