Property Defect & Compliance Inspections Officer Location: Southend-on-Sea Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum Are you an experienced property professional with a keen eye for detail and a passion for ensuring safety and compliance? We're looking for a Property Defect & Compliance Inspections Officer to join our clients' team in Southend-on-Sea. What You’ll Do Conduct detailed inspections of our property portfolio, identifying defects and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations and council licensing conditions. Produce thorough site survey reports, highlighting necessary works to ensure properties are safe, well-maintained, and ready for re-letting. Investigate reported maintenance issues and liaise with contractors to ensure timely and accurate resolutions. Perform routine inspections to identify early-stage defects, recommend preventative measures, and escalate critical concerns when needed. Support our out-of-hours emergency line to provide 24/7 assistance for urgent maintenance or safety concerns. What We’re Looking For At least 3 years of property defect identification and inspection experience, ideally within the Private Rented Sector (PRS). A valid UK driving license. Strong knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and council licensing requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email; familiarity with MRI Evolution software is a plus. Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with tenants, contractors, and local authorities.
