Job Description Summary
Reporting directly to the Medical Signatory Director, the Medical Signatory Business Partner will join a team of Specialists responsible for providing expertise in the ABPI Code. Using their industry, therapy area, medical, and code knowledge, they will collaborate with the business to ensure that promotional and non-promotional materials and activities are fair, balanced, factually accurate, and compliant with the Code and our policies. This role will also serve as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) and primary source of ABPI Code medical signatory advice for Therapeutic Area aligned functions, acting as the final signatory.
Location: London Office with Hybrid working (12 days per month in the office). Relocation: This role is based in London, UK. Novartis is unable to offer relocation or visa support for this role: please only apply if this location is accessible for you and you have the right to work in the UK.
Key responsibilities:
* Partner with the business, leveraging industry, therapy area, medical, and code knowledge and provide expertise through the lifecycle of projects.
* Collaborate and communicate with cross-functional brand teams to make pragmatic and competitive code-related decisions aligned with therapy area plans, whilst managing numerous approval activities concurrently.
* Lead and manage the therapy area material and activity review process, and act as a final signatory for items and activities for the business.
* Demonstrate high ethical standards and provide guidance to successfully execute the commercial strategy and activities for the UK.
* Lead code governance projects and proactively engage with stakeholders to support the development and update guidance materials to support the wider company on priority day-to-day copy approval topics, as well as longer term strategic topics that impact across the business.
* Maintain own knowledge of updates to codes, legislation and code precedents, and business systems and platforms related to copy approval.
* Provide advice on and input into Intercompany Dialogue (ICD) cases and Code complaints.
* Prepare, support and conduct training on code topics at company forums, as assigned.
* Act as subject matter expert on the ABPI and internal policies to maintain the highest standards and support the PMCPA complaint process and seek to identify solutions that enable the business.
* Drive continuous quality improvement of team outputs by sharing best practice and provide feedback to TA during concept creation and throughout the design and development process.
* Maintain and seek to optimise vendor relationships to ensure the service provided delivers effectively and compliantly.
Essential requirements:
* Significant experience in medical affairs in a signatory role (pharmacy/medical qualification) or relevant skills and experience to become a registered signatory in a short timeframe on a wide range of activities, materials and projects.
* Experience in PMCPA code complaints.
* Good knowledge of UK healthcare systems.
* Experience of internal and external stakeholder management.
