We are seeking a dynamic and driven Service Account Manager to oversee the delivery and management of a new, multi-specialty contract in Essex.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the service, optimal utilisation of patients, and strong financial performance. You will lead a team comprising Patient Bookers and Medical Secretaries, ensuring the highest standards of service delivery. Acting as the primary point of escalation for the contract, you will liaise closely with clinicians, operational teams, and stakeholders to guarantee seamless service provision.
This role requires a hands-on, flexible individual who is comfortable working over the weekend and during peak periods.
Main duties will include:
1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the contract, ensuring efficient and high-quality service delivery across multiple specialties.
2. Work closely with Patient Bookers and Medical Secretaries to optimise workflows and service efficiency.
3. Ensure excellent utilisation of patient appointments and resources.
4. Serve as the key point of contact for all escalations related to the contract.
5. Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including clinicians, trust staff, and the wider operations team.
6. Regularly review service performance and implement improvement strategies as necessary.
7. Monitor the financial performance of the service, ensuring it meets agreed targets.
8. Minimise cost lines, such as agency or increased clinician rates, by ensuring the service is fully staffed and efficiently resourced.
9. Proactively identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.
10. Collaborate with the wider operations team to ensure adequate staffing levels across the service.
11. Address staffing challenges promptly to avoid disruption to service delivery.
12. Work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of a primarily weekend-based service, including working Thursday to Monday or covering weekends as required.
13. Spend 2-3 days per week on-site at the trust to build relationships, monitor service delivery, and provide hands-on support.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience in service delivery and account management within a healthcare or similar setting.
2. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams, including Patient Bookers and Medical Secretaries.
3. Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, particularly in high-pressure environments.
4. Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and improving cost efficiency.
5. Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
6. Flexible approach to working hours, including availability to work weekends and adapt to service needs.
7. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the wider operations team.
8. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
9. Previous experience in managing multi-specialty contracts or similar healthcare services.
10. Familiarity with NHS systems and processes.
11. Experience in workforce planning and managing escalation processes.
