Your new role
This role is being a second support to the Group Financial Controller responsible for contributing to the company's success in the following areas.
1. Accurate financial control & monthly management reporting.
2. Preparation of Annual Financial Statements.
3. Balance sheet reconciliations with a particular focus on prepayments, accruals, and salaries.
4. Taxation (VAT and corporation tax).
5. Business partnering and cost control.
6. Build strong financial and accounting controls and policies.
7. Oversee 2 team members within the transactional function.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate for the role will have similar practical experience and be either a Finalist/Newly Qualified or a seasoned Qualified Finance Manager. Preferable qualifications include ACA, ACCA, CIMA or ICAEW. A thorough understanding of financial processes and controls including revenue, costs, balance sheet and cash handling deadlines and keeping to a timetable. Extensive experience in the application of accounting principles and standards and knowledge of the UK regulatory environment and other legislative requirements is essential. Key skills include excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills, time management skills and problem-solving abilities and the ability to facilitate teams and build relationships through coaching.
