The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Security Officer to join our team at University Hospital Wishaw.
To be observant in helping to reduce/ prevent crime on the UHM Site.
To assist in providing a safe and secure environment for Patients, Staff, and Visitors.
To undertake regular patrols of the internal and external site of the UHM sites.
To provide help and advice to Patients, Visitors, and Staff.
To be an advocate for NHSL whilst undertaking their role.
What we'll need you to bring
The post holder will be expected to gain an understanding of a range of work procedures gained through induction and training. The required skills include but are not limited to:
* Level of H&S Knowledge in line with NHSL and departmental policies and (SOP’s)
* Communication skills that are supportive, empathetic, compassionate and have the ability to de-escalate difficult conversations
* Knowledge of site layout
* Basic knowledge of CCTV
* Requires a professional and sympathetic approach to people
* To be able to understand and react correctly and quickly to incidents remaining competent under pressure.
* Use of communication equipment
* Use of monitoring systems
* Must be capable of writing accurate reports
* To be competent in the use of all department equipment/ personal protective equipment
* Whilst it would be an advantage for new members to have had previous experience in the security industry, it is not essential. All staff will be required to undertake on-the-job training.
