The bit about us:
Founded in 2019, by 3 hugely motivated entrepreneurs whose mission was clear - business should be a force for good. And by good we mean; we consider people and planet as well as profit. We are very proud to be a certified B Corp!
We currently manage 400,000 sqft of hospitality focused coworking, event, and exclusive club spaces for over 5000 members. We operate across the UK, with offices in London, Birmingham, Manchester, and Milton Keynes with plans to launch more sites in 2025 (and beyond!).
The bit about the role:
As the Event Operations Manager at our stunning site in Birmingham (Foundry, Brindley Place), you will oversee all meeting and event operations and guest services, ensuring every client has a positive, seamless and memorable experience.
Responsible for the day-to-day event operations, you will also focus on revenue generation while upholding uncompromising service standards. You will collaborate with the F&B Director and the finance team to set and manage budgets, invoices, ensure deposits are collected by all clients and monitor payroll costs.
Our events range in size from small meeting room events for up to 10 people, to larger theater style events for up to 100. The majority of our events are corporate, with minimal social events. Generally the hours will be Monday to Friday (8am-5pm/9am-6pm), however there are times when events will run later, so we do require flexibility to work evenings.
Relationship building is crucial as you will be managing a range of internal and external stakeholders, from our event sales team and site teams, to clients, vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
Successful event delivery is achieved by your ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and security throughout the event and meeting spaces.
The bit about you:
You lead by example – you show up every day with energy, determination, and focus. Your people skills are through the roof amazing, and you go to great lengths to fully understand each event to ensure you can anticipate the client’s needs.
You know it is often the small things that have the biggest impact and understand that consistency of standards is what drives success across all aspects of an event.
You happily roll your sleeves up if a desk needs to be moved or AV equipment needs adjusted. Your enthusiasm and persistent tenacity ensure you breeze through even the bumpiest of days!
Experience in a similar role for a workspace provider, private members club, lifestyle brand or luxury hotel is essential.
Why x+why?
We want you to enjoy coming to work every day. Even on Mondays.
To make sure of this we will provide you with a phenomenal environment - think inspiring design, cutting edge tech, stunning views, great coffee, and lots and lots of plants! Plus, you’ll be part of our incredibly supportive, collaborative team, who although take their jobs very seriously, also want to have a little fun along the way.
