We are looking to recruit a Personal Assistant for a young male person who has Autism, social and communication difficulties, sensory issues and difficulties with cognition/learning. (Successful candidate will be employed by the family)
A Personal Assistant works directly with one or more individuals to support them with various aspects of their daily life so that they can live it in a way they choose.
The Personal Assistant will be required to spend time getting to know the young person and learning to understand their needs. Time will also be spent supporting the family initially either In the home or in the community until a trusting relationship has been formed.
The Personal Assistant needs to be understanding and patient to the young person's individual needs and will need to be calm and nurturing.
Future daily tasks could include help with communication, physical tasks, facilitating and escorting to activities (to be agreed with family after initial getting to know period).
Experience with young children desirable. Previous work with disabilities is required for this role and who also has a background in managing and dealing with potential challenging behavior.
Online training will be given, if required, in areas such as Safeguarding, Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities, Manual Handling and Paediatric First Aid. A full enhanced DBS check will be required prior to starting with the family and will be provided.

Hours available - 4 hours per week to be worked (for example) Monday and Wednesday evening 4pm - 6pm or 5pm - 7pm and with some weekend availability.
Due to the nature of the job, the minimum required age of applicants is 17 years + and would ideally live in Halton and the surrounding boroughs.
Driver with own car is preferred for this role but the family would consider non-drivers.
Wage - £11.44 per hour. (Due to increase in April 2025)
