Finance Assistant Contract: Permanent Location: Peterborough Hours: Full time Salary: CompetitiveWe have an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic Finance team as a Credit Finance Assistant This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working 2 days a week in our Peterborough office. The Credit Finance Assistant will be responsible for the daily administration and allocation of cash receipts, managing inter-company transfers, and maintaining daily cash reports. Key duties include processing card payments, handling write-offs and adjustments, and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs). The role also involves banking tasks, assisting Credit Control with various requests, and managing new supplier forms. Additionally, the assistant produces and circulates monthly pro-forma invoice reports, updates commercial management accounts, and assists with new customer approvals. Data maintenance and credit risk monitoring are also crucial aspects of this role.The post holder will join a fast-paced finance team within our multi service office in Peterborough, alongside the IT and HR teams. Main Tasks: Daily administration and allocation of cash receipts to the business in Business Central, for both BACS and cheques Deal with intercompany transfers / Client Accounts Maintaining the Daily Cash Received reports & Remittance files Taking card payments over the phone / online – advising Credit Control via Credit Hound Action and Allocation of Write Offs and Adjustments Assisting Credit Control with ad hoc requests: Credit Risk: Monitor ongoing all live customers with a balance in the last 12 months, to ensure current credit report – check advised limit to balance and report on those over credit limit What will it take to be successful? The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, conduct their work in a professional manner and be comfortable with multi-tasking and working under pressure to meet deadlines. Ideally you will have experience working within an accounts receivable or finance administration role within a medium sized company or in a similar role. Experience with cash allocation is desirable, but not essential. A good working knowledge of Microsoft office packages, including Excel is essential for this role.
