Mitie – Care & Custody are recruiting for a QHSE Adviser.
Salary: £37,188
Working: 40 Hour week Monday to Friday.
The role is based at Manston STHF and you will be reporting to the Performance and Compliance Manager.
You must be willing, and able, to pass DBS & Vetting check up to Counter Terrorism Level (CTC).
As the QHSE adviser, you must be willing to be part of a dynamic, professional team supporting multiple stakeholders on a high-profile short-term holding facility.
Your objectives and responsibilities will include:
1. Helping to implement the company QHSE and Risk strategy for the site.
2. Optimising the QHSE structure and processes to help the site obtain their targeted results and embed a positive health and safety culture.
3. Representing QHSE as part of the senior management teams.
4. Providing an excellent Client facing QHSE shared service to the site.
5. Delivering a Quality risk management service that promotes continual improvement and a culture of QHSE compliance.
6. Providing support and strategic advice to the Contract Senior Management team to maximise contractual performance and effective delivery of all client facing services ensuring adherence and compliance with all Home Office, company, legislative and relevant standards promoting performance and best practice.
As the ideal candidate, you will have:
1. Good literacy and communication skills with excellent verbal and written English.
2. Experience in managing a QHSE position in a custodial environment.
3. Qualified to NEBOSH certificate level or above or desire to work towards it.
4. A proven track record in delivering QHSE change management initiatives, with strong knowledge and application of UK HS&E law.
5. A sound knowledge of risks and controls associated with the provision of regulated activities.
You will comply at all times with the Company's legal and regulatory policies and procedures and importantly quality ethos.
You will need to have competent (Basic – Intermediate) skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel and central IT systems.
