Job Description: Project Scheduler/Planner (Water/Wastewater Sector/Drainage) Position Title: Project Scheduler/Planner Location: Grays, Essex Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 Job Type: Full-time About the Role: We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Project Scheduler/Planner to join our team in the water and wastewater sector. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in planning, scheduling, and coordinating the successful delivery of water and wastewater projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and in line with quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Project Scheduling: Develop, manage, and maintain detailed project schedules for water and drainage infrastructure projects. Experience using Commusoft system – Field Service Management System Coordination and Communication: Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to gather input for scheduling and ensure alignment of project timelines. Resource Planning: Coordinate resources such as tanker drivers to different sites, engineers/trades to call outs and materials, tools ensuring they are available at appropriate stages of the project Reporting: Provide regular and accurate updates on project timelines, progress, and resource allocation to senior management and key stakeholders. Change Management: Track and assess changes to the project scope and schedule, ensuring that any changes are incorporated and communicated effectively across all teams. Compliance: Ensure that project schedules comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements, specifically in the water and wastewater sector. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and documentation related to project schedules, including reports, status updates, and time tracking for audits and future reference. Person Specification: Essential Criteria: Qualifications: Relevant certifications or qualifications in project planning or scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project). Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field – Desirable, not necessary Experience: Proven experience (3 years) as a Project Scheduler/Planner, ideally within the water, wastewater, or utilities sector. Experience using Commusoft system – Field Service Management System Experience with scheduling software tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar project management tools. Understanding of construction processes, particularly in water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including pipeline installation, treatment plant construction, and civil works. Skills: Strong knowledge of project scheduling and planning techniques Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities. Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross functional teams and stakeholders. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and advanced skills in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
