Government Property & Litigation Lawyer
Locum Contract - Full Time 6 months+
Rate - £31 per hour PAYE
Annual equivalent of £61,200
London, Hybrid-Working
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced UK Qualified (Solicitor or Barrister/Equivalent) Property Litigation Lawyer to join a Central Government Organisation. My client is looking for a passionate individual who has extensive knowledge and experience of Property Law and other Civil litigation matters.
The role involves advising and supporting in exercising functions with a focus on law and policy relating to residential property, in particular reforms to the leasehold tenure, and housing more generally. The role provides an unrivalled opportunity to help shape and deliver legal and policy change in this subject area, working in the heart of Government.
Key Responsibilities of the Property and Litigation Lawyer:
* To have a mixed caseload of matters, including Property matters and a broad range of property litigation and other civil litigation
* Drafting and sending suitable correspondence in reply to enquiries received from lawyers and unrepresented parties on a broad range of property matters including in relation to enquiries about freehold and leasehold land
* Advising on litigation involving the Government, working closely with GLD Litigation teams and external Counsel as required.
* Conduct a wide variety of matters making decisions about case progression (liaising and seeking views from senior colleagues where necessary).
* Familiarity with electronic case management and ability to keep electronic files in good order with all correspondence and documents filed as necessary.
* Ability to manage a high case load whilst maintaining a good working relationship with team colleagues.
Required Skills and Experience:
* Sound knowledge of and experience of advising on residential leasehold law and/or residential property law
* UK Qualified( Solicitor or Barrister/Equivalent with at least 2 years post-qualified experience
