About the Role
As a Compliance Manager (UK & Ireland), you will be part of a Business Partner team of three who will drive the development of the UK compliance framework. You will provide a blend of practical, proactive compliance advice, guidance, support and oversight to the first line. Your role will support the business to manage regulatory risk in line with our risk appetite. You will have a broad remit of responsibilities spanning across all of the Business Unit's lines of business. You will report to the Compliance Office UK (SMF 16) and be part of the regional and global compliance team which actively supports and oversees Allianz Partners UK & Ireland in managing its regulatory risk profile.
Main Duties
1. Provide timely and considered advice and guidance to the first line of defence on a range of general insurance topics, including, but not limited to: ICOBS; Product Governance; Conduct Risk; Consumer Duty;
2. Support and oversee conduct and regulatory risk in the context of projects, product development, bids and tenders, including supporting agile product development processes with timely and comprehensive regulatory advice.
3. Partner with other Compliance team members and first line colleagues to identify areas of high regulatory and conduct risk.
4. Support the continued evolution of a proportionate control environment so that key regulatory risks are appropriately managed.
5. Provide timely and accurate reporting and, where necessary, ensure escalation of regulatory matters such as risk incidents to senior management and relevant governance fora.
6. Support first line teams to assess the impact of regulatory changes and the development of necessary controls through the implementation of a pro-active engagement model.
7. Utilise regulatory risk assessment tools to assess the impact and likelihood of risks related to new product developments.
8. Support oversight of the company's ARs and IARs.
9. Administer and review adherence to the SMCR regime.
10. Regular review of policy framework and implementation of required updates to ensure compliance with the changing regulatory landscape.
11. Work closely with the regional and global team to monitor adherence to group framework and standards.
12. Oversight of the first line of defence through review of KPIs and follow up on identified risks.
About you & what we require
1. 5+ years of experience within a Compliance function.
2. A sound knowledge of FCA regulatory requirements and key conduct related priorities within insurance.
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to take complex issues and communicate them in a simple, easily understood way.
4. Can independently manage a portfolio of work and balance the demands of maintaining high quality work and delivering to deadlines.
5. Quickly master unfamiliar businesses, processes or products. Able to logically analyse and assess them.
6. Pro-active and not afraid to challenge the status quo.
7. Professional approach and delivery of work product.
8. Energy, enthusiasm, persistence and adaptability.
9. Can challenge and raise your point of view across to senior individuals and can defend it constructively.
