Thornden School is seeking an exceptional individual to join our successful support staff team as a Cover Supervisor on a maternity cover basis.

About the role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
1. Work alongside the Cover Manager to ensure classes are covered and students remain engaged in learning.
2. Uphold the School’s behaviour and rewards policies, recording actions as necessary.
3. Provide additional support for colleagues by covering lessons when required.
4. Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures, including those relating to child protection, health & safety, and security & confidentiality.
5. Undertake other responsibilities as assigned by the SIMS Manager or Senior Leadership Team when cover is not needed.
We are seeking:
1. An understanding of safeguarding protocols (training provided).
2. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain instructions clearly, both verbally and in writing.
3. Proficiency in literacy, numeracy, and ICT packages.
4. An understanding of teaching and learning principles.
5. The ability to work independently and take initiative.
6. Ability to relate well to students, be an effective role model, and motivate students to achieve success.
7. Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, maintaining professionalism at all times.
