Role and Responsibilities: As a Behavioural Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs, particularly those with challenging behaviour and SEMH issues. Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Providing one-on-one and group support to students, helping them manage their behaviour and emotions.
2. Implementing tailored support plans to meet the individual needs of each student.
3. Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to create a supportive and structured learning environment.
4. Using de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour management strategies.
5. Encouraging and guiding students to achieve their educational and personal goals.
6. Building strong, empathetic relationships with students to understand their unique challenges and strengths.
Requirements: The ideal candidate will possess the following:
1. Proven experience working with students with challenging behaviour and SEMH needs.
2. A genuine interest in the education sector and a passion for supporting vulnerable students.
3. Exceptional empathy and resilience.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. The ability to remain calm under pressure and manage difficult situations effectively.
6. A proactive and positive attitude towards problem-solving and teamwork.
