Overview:
SMS is in need of a System Engineer to work with ITF sustainment. As a System Engineer for the ITF, employees work alongside database administrators, system administrators, and network administrators to build and test changes on the baseline test network prior to changes being made on the USAF operational network. These changes will be well documented to maintain integrity in the results of each modification made. The ITF System Engineer is responsible for maintaining the baseline configuration within the ITF and on the networks when changes are made to the baseline for all AF systems.

Responsibilities:
1. Maintain baseline system image repository
2. Maintain a lab security scanning server
3. Maintain an ACAS scanning system
4. Perform full and incremental backups of all lab infrastructure
5. Perform updates and patches IAW change management process
6. Perform preventative system maintenance on all lab equipment IAW references
7. Review and analyze system logs on all ITF equipment
8. Maintain documentation and diagrams of infrastructure
9. Ensure systems maintain compliance with STIGs and other security requirements
10. Provide user and user rights management
11. Work alongside other system engineers within the (3) ITFs to perform daily tasks associated with testing on the ITF base-lined networks.
12. Build and maintain network and system environments as required for testing within the (3) ITF locations.
13. Maintain documentation of all changes made to the infrastructure and system configurations of the (3) ITF locations to understand the effects of each change for further changes and permanent implementations.
14. Return all ITF locations back to their original state upon completion of testing.
15. Follow appropriate facility and DOD guidelines for access into ITF locations during and outside of normal business hours.
16. Assist customers working within the ITF with all requirements to complete tasks.
17. Assist ITF manager with overseeing the team as required.
Qualifications:
Experience Requirements:
7-9 years of experience as a system engineer on an enterprise network.
Experience with traffic load testing.
Scripting experience on Windows and Linux based systems to better facilitate changes.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in related technical discipline. MIS related field is preferred but not mandatory.

CompTIA Security+CE or equivalent
ITIL Foundation
VMWare Certified Associate (VCA-DCV)
CompTIA A+CE or CompTIA Network+CE or CompTIA Server+ or CompTIA Cloud+
Desired Certifications:
Tenable Assured Compliance Assessment Solution Certificate
Red Hat CSA
Clearance:
Active DOD Secret security clearance Required
