Hourly Paid Lecturer for Game Engine
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Hourly Paid Lecturer to join our team at Brunel University London. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and assessment in the subject area of Game Engine, with a particular focus on utilising the Unreal Engine to develop 3D vertical prototypes and advancing them to high-fidelity products.

Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching and Delivery
o Develop and deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical workshops on Unreal Engine and game development concepts.
o Guide students through the process of creating and iterating 3D vertical and high-fidelity prototypes.
o Utilise a variety of teaching methods and materials to cater to different learning styles and enhance student engagement.
2. Assessment and Feedback
o Administer and grade assessments, assignments, and projects related to game development.
o Provide timely, constructive, and detailed feedback to students to support their academic and professional growth.
o Participate in moderation and standardisation processes to ensure consistency and fairness in grading.
3. Student Support
o Offer academic support and guidance to students, addressing their learning needs and fostering a supportive learning environment.
o Encourage and mentor students in developing their work that demonstrates their skills and creativity.
4. Administrative Duties
o Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessments.
Qualifications and Experience
* A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Games Design, Games Development or a related field.
* Proficient experience with Unreal Engine, including practical experience in developing 3D prototypes and high-fidelity projects.
* Prior experience in teaching or training, preferably at Higher Education level.
* Strong understanding of game development processes, including design, programming, and asset integration.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively.
* Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students.
Skills and Competencies
* Technical Proficiency:
o Expertise in using the Unreal Engine for Games Development.
o Expertise in scripting using Blueprints.
o Knowledge of 3D asset utilisation and management within Unreal.
* Teaching Excellence:

o Competent in assessing student work against clear criteria and learning outcomes.
