Service Operations is a key business unit within the company, with responsibility for the management of after sales product returns and repairs, supported by Europe’s largest tech repair centre. This role will business partner the Director of Service Operations in financially managing a £150m cost base and is expected to become their trusted business advisor. You will work with them and the Service Operations team to financially manage and influence all aspects of the business units performance. This role will also work closely with the Services team to ensure the propositions and pricing of the services sold to customers align with the costs involved in delivering the customer promise. Role overview: As part of this role, you’ll be responsible for: Business Partnering the Director of Service Operations, developing your knowledge of an extremely complex business unit to enable you to influence its strategy and plans whilst delivering on committed business outcomes Managing and communicating weekly financial performance updates to the Director of Service Operations and their Senior Leadership Team (SLT) Managing the forecasting process for Service Operations budgets, defining the timetable, engaging and challenging the Director and SLT on headwinds and initiatives to be included. Delivering a robust submission and presenting the story in a clear and compelling manner Identifying opportunities to improve business outcomes and influence the delivery of these with whilst managing the creation of the business cases, presenting and gaining approval at governance forums Managing the tracking of implemented initiatives to ensure the benefits track in line with expectations. Proactively challenge where performance deviates and work with Operations to flex the plan when required to ensure we maximise the value from the investment Driving improvements in ways of working within the role, across the Finance team and across Operations. This includes simplifying and automating performance reporting, streamlining processes, transitioning reporting activity to Infosys, etc. Leading, supporting and developing the offshore accounting team who are responsible for delivering weekly and period end financial reporting. Build their knowledge of the business unit to maximise the value from the team Owning for the Service Operations period pack, ensuring the financial and operational metrics accurately communicate the performance of the business unit. Continuous improve the content to ensure the metrics and explanations reflect business unit changes. You will need: Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build strong relationships whilst influencing and challenging GLT stakeholders to deliver improved business outcomes Strong commercial acumen, adept at comprehending complex business areas, and skilled in identifying opportunities and executing these Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate with GLT stakeholders to articulate complex messages in a compelling manner via all means of communication. Outcome focused with a track record of delivering end to end solutions in a planned and controlled manner Strong resilience with a track record of delivering results in high-pressure environments A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset. Experience of instigating and delivering change within a business unit to improve performance & ways of working Robust organisational skills, capable of meeting stringent deadlines while maintaining a meticulous focus on high attention to detail.
