Castle Education is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Supply Teachers and Teaching Assistants to join our team for Primary and Secondary Schools in Whitby and the surrounding areas. Whether you are a newly qualified or experienced teacher looking to network in a variety of new schools as a supply teacher, we can provide you with regular daily/long term work. Whether you are looking for 2- or 5-days flexible work a week we would like to hear from you.
Working on a supply basis will require you to ideally have your own form of transport as sometimes we may call you on the morning of work at short notice. We also have several pre-planned absences where we will be able to provide you with advanced notice of work allowing you plenty of time to prepare for the day ahead.
About the Role: As part of our supply pool, you will have the flexibility to choose your working hours and locations, gaining valuable experience across different school settings. You will cover short-term vacancies and longer assignments, helping to maintain high educational standards and support students’ learning journeys.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver engaging and effective lessons across various subjects and year groups.
2. Support classroom management and create a positive learning environment.
3. Assist in planning and preparing educational activities and materials.
4. Provide one-on-one or small group support to students as needed.
5. Collaborate with school staff to enhance student learning and development.
Who We’re Looking For:
6. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching assistant qualifications are desirable, but not essential.
7. Experience in teaching or classroom assistance in Primary and Secondary schools.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
9. A genuine passion for education and student success.
10. Flexibility and adaptability to different teaching environments.
