Teaching personnel are currently working with a great school in Newcaslte who are seeking a Higher level Teaching Assistant to join their team to help support their students when their main class Teacher is absent.
About the role
As well as providing full classroom support, the role will also require you to work closely with the classroom teachers providing support to students with SEN, either providing one-on-one support to leading small intervention groups, adapting teaching methods, and materials to meet individual needs.
It will also be important for the successful candidate to foster positive relationships with parents, as well as the students and other staff members to ensure full understanding of the individuals you are working with as well as attending training and professional development sessions to again enhance your knowledge, to ensure you can provide your students with the very best help and support.
They school have been rated a ‘Good’ School by Ofsted and have excellent facilities for students and members of staff. Due to their locality the school have excellent transport links for those who do not drive and a large car park for members of staff who do.
Requirements
Relevant HLTA qualifications
2 + years’ Experience working with SEN children
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Flexible and adaptable approach to learning
Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support students with special educational needs
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Enhanced child only DBS

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
