Job Title: NPI Engineer
Location: Stourbridge
Pay Rates: £35,000
Shift Patterns: 08:00 - 16:00 Monday to Friday
We are seeking a hands-on NPI Engineer - New Product Engineer who is looking to join a thriving business based in Stourbridge. This role will be supporting the Quality and Technical department to ensure that all processes are coordinated and executed smoothly from start to finish.
Responsibilities:
* Collate all sample data ensuring documentation is accurately completed.
* Manage sample system ensuring all items are up to date.
* Review sample information weekly with the technical team to confirm improvement actions.
* Follow samples through all of the process from core production to final casting inspection.
* Liaise with production to plan samples and to ensure castings are sent for dimensional validation.
* Liaise with customers, suppliers, and tooling subcontractors.
* Coordinate production of core making and external suppliers.
* Coordinate action plans.
* Ensure all items relating to PPAP documentation are completed.
* Coordinate and maintain quality control systems.
* Project management packages of work, ensuring all data and timings are easily transparent for all the technical team to review.
* Monitor the quality of outgoing products.
* Ensure smooth transition of any new products.
* Follow sample information through with machinist for complete sample sign-off, ensuring alterations do not affect external scrap rates.
* Optimize methods of manufacturing.
* Assist with internal and external scrap reduction projects.
* Maintain manufacturing data.
* Report to the senior management team.
Qualification/Experience:
* Must have extensive experience within Quality and New Product Information.
* Project management experience.
* Understanding of quality systems.
* Experience in a castings background is preferred.
* Ability to speak, read, and write English to an excellent standard.
