Part time Based in Yeovil Term time only Monday to Friday 12pm - 2pm Job purpose: To ensure the security, safety and wellbeing, and care of the pupils of the school and to promote their social, emotional and physical development during the lunch time period. Main duties and Responsibilities: Preparation of the dining area for service, which may include moving and/or setting up furniture and trolleys, cleaning putting away after service Preparation the service area, hot cupboards and other equipment as instructed. Wash dishes, cutlery, tumblers, jugs, serving utensils, containers, tables and all other catering equipment in the catering environment. Clean catering areas to regulated standards as directed. To assist in the serving of meals in line with agreed procedures. To be qualified in the Level 2 Award in Food Safety (Desirable but not essential) To encourage social skills and good table manners, ensuring safety with knives and forks. To clean up spillages of food and to organise clearing cutlery and crockery off tables. To carry out the washing up of food utensils and crockery etc. and to store items in a clean and efficient manner. To understand, and ensure the implementation of statutory Health and Safety policies, Environmental Health requirements and emergency and fire procedures. To ensure the safety and wellbeing of children, providing emotional support where necessary. Promoting and ensuring good behaviour and calm atmosphere. Reporting any misbehaviour that may occur in accordance with the school’s Behaviour Policy. Addressing issues calmly and politely and in doing so being a role model to the children. Report as appropriate any incidents to the senior members of staff.
