As the Associate Director, Human Resources Operations and Employee Relations, reporting to the VP HR, you will be a key player within the Northern European (NE) Hub team responsible for the development and implementation of employee relations policies and processes along with ensuring the delivery of the Automation and AI strategy at the local Hub level to simplify work and maximise the employee experience.
As our new Associate Director, you will lead the UK Employee Relations team in the provision of indirect and direct employee relations guidance and support to all levels of management. This enables our Hub team (Approx. 1000 employees) of Medics, Scientists, Commercial & Business Support functions to continue to discover and deliver life-changing medications to those in need across the NE Hub.
As a HR Operations expert, you will have a comprehensive knowledge of the Workday system and be responsible for leading the HR team in the utilisation of the Workday reporting and data analytics capabilities to drive the Company’s people strategy and programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for delivering the strategic workforce plan, supporting the NE Hub Associate- VP of HR during the annual business planning cycle. This includes close collaboration with Business Unit Leads, HR Business Partners and Finance to develop and deliver the forecasted headcount plans.
2. Partner with HR Business Partners and Business Leaders at the Director and Senior Director levels to lead function specific projects.
3. Manage and develop a team of employee relations HR experts in the delivery of direct and indirect ER support to the business.
4. Coach and manage the Employee Relations associates in the support of employee cases in all aspects of the employee life cycle including managing performance and conduct through the grievance, performance management and disciplinary processes.
5. Advise on employment legislation and implement and maintain compliant HR policies and procedures. Manage the relationship with the external employment legal advisors with upskilling of UK HR team as required.
6. Responsible for upskilling managers in investigations and chairing of formal employee hearings.
7. Coach line managers and employees on the implementation and interpretation of Lilly HR policies, procedures and processes. Owning communications to educate and engage as appropriate.
8. Work closely with the HR Solutions (HR Shared Service Centre, Cork, Ireland) management to optimise the delivery of the globally aligned shared services HR concept and to align with UK requirements.
Position Requirements:
1. Significant experience in Business/HR Experience with management.
2. Effective decision-making skills to help guide and facilitate general employee and business matters.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of Workday human capital system.
4. Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
5. Ability to design, deliver, and implement initiatives that contribute to overall development of the HR organisation.
6. Experience in the management of complex employee relations cases including to Industrial Tribunal level.
