* Assist with crafting imaginative and nutritionally balanced menus that cater to diverse tastes, dietary preferences, and nutritional needs of our students with the head chef and Chef Manager.
* Work within a kitchen team and foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and efficiency.
* Assist the head chef with the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of food quality and service.
* Maintain strict adherence to health and safety regulations, ensuring a clean and organised kitchen environment.
* Help maintain budgets, as well as stock control.
Qualifications
* Level 2 or Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate (essential)
* NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Professional Cookery (or equivalent) (essential)
* At least 3-5 years’ experience in a senior kitchen role (Senior CdP or Sous Chef)
* Strong background in leading small teams and mentoring junior chefs
* Excellent knowledge of food safety, kitchen hygiene, and health & safety regulations
* Experience in menu planning and controlling food costs
* Passion for fresh, high-quality ingredients and innovative cooking techniques
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
* Leadership skills and a proactive, can-do attitude
* Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain a calm and efficient kitchen
