BlackRock Alternatives BlackRocks global Alternatives business includes the firms investment capabilities across Real Estate, Infrastructure, Hedge Funds, Private Equity and Credit. BlackRock Alternatives currently manages over $300 billion in total assets and client commitments with a team of over 1,300 professionals. This unified global operating platform combines expertise, resources, and capabilities across asset classes with investment teams located in London, Dublin, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Princeton, Hong Kong, Boston, and Santa Monica, among other locations. Alternative Client Platform (“ACP”) ACP’s objective is to enhance the client experience via a centralized platform that supports investor relations activities across our rapidly growing Alternatives business. Located in Atlanta, Budapest, London, Seattle, Edinburgh, and Mumbai, ACP is primarily responsible for delivering client reporting and fundraising support in partnership with our investment, client, and operational teams. Client reporting • Coordination and production of formal quarterly reporting packages using portfolio-level and market updates from portfolio managers, asset managers, and fund administration teams across a variety of BlackRock Alternatives businesses • Reporting data management • Coordination of quarterly custom investor reporting • Coordination of regulatory reporting Due Diligence support • Data room management • Maintenance of our standard RFP answer library in Responsive.io • RFP production in conjunction with Product Strategy • Coordination of customized client due diligence requests • Completion of industry surveys and consultant questionnaires Fundraising support • Maintain and update product pitchbooks and other standard marketing collateral with platform level data • Submit materials through the central compliance system, and address follow-ups • Quarterly update of performance and track record information as required • Work closely with senior IR professionals to ensure meeting follow-ups are completed Client Communications • Answering client queries • Coordination of Annual LP event planning and preparation of materials • Coordination and preparation of fund webcasts • Preparation and coordination of formal investor communications • Coordination of secondary sales and transfer process Client Support • Client data management including maintenance of demographics and statistics • Client Record Management Product Management • Coordination of fund closings with partner teams • Support for side letter negotiations, ensuring engagement of senior partners and raising concerns as required • Coordinate and attend fund board meetings for closings, and other approvals as required Operations • Support and investigate technology and process options to scale and automate routine client service activities • Drive projects to enhance productivity through technology and process re-engineering Key Qualifications • BA/BS required • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential • Persuasive and polished written and oral communication skills • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels • Meticulous attention to detail • High proficiency in Excel, with ability to manipulate data in a spreadsheet • Proficiency in Word and PowerPoint, with ability to create marketing slides • Analytical ability to synthesize information and summarize issues • Desire to learn the investment management industry • 0-3 years of experience (analyst); 3 years of experience in financial services (associate) We are looking for people who are: • Able to thrive in a culture of excellence, innovation, communication, and accountability, where all members of the team are motivated to go above and beyond, and think globally and creatively • Constantly seeking better ways to do things and ability to challenge status quo • Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment • Proven teammate with strong interpersonal skills • Able to appropriately prioritize. • Self-directed and feel comfortable asking questions and taking the initiative to get projects completed accurately and on time. • Client service focused as this position will communicate directly with sales teams, consultants and clients, in person, via phone and email on a regular basis. • Able to work under tight deadlines and conflicting priorities • Keen to learn about private markets in one of the fastest growing business areas of BlackRock • Flexible and adaptable to thrive in a dynamic and changing environment • Understand the risk environment within the department – promote risk awareness, assessment, and control
