We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and hardworking Practice Nurse to join our friendly practice team who are responsible for the care of approx. 17000 patients.Salary is dependant on experience.The successful candidate will be a team player who can continue to support the demands and changing circumstances of general practice along with commitment to continuing to maintain our consistent high QOF achievement.

Main duties of the job
To deliver general treatment room duties including womens health, implementing immunisation programmes for both adults and children.Assisting in and performing routine tasks related to patient care as directed by GPs, including ECG recordings, Hypertension Monitoring, Nebulisation and Cervical Cytology.Assist in assessing and implementing care to patients presenting with minor injuries, including the removal of sutures.Wound care management/ leg ulcer care/ doppler readings.Requesting pathology test, for example urine culture, swabs. Follow agreed clinical protocols with referral to GPs as appropriate.Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required.

Our Nursing team are supported by a Nurse Manager and an Advanced Nurse Practitioner Manager.

Summary of roleThe role of the practice nurse is to maintain a high standard of patient care in collaboration with the clinical team, providing routine nursing and medical care. Whilst working in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct, the post-holder will provide assessment, treatment, screening, health education services and advice to patients.You will need to be a Registered General Nurse, have evidence of continued professional development and ideally have two years post-registration experience.
