We are looking for a Senior Surety Underwriter to join our team in London or Norwich!
A bit about the job:
You will be responsible for the following:
* Managing a portfolio of business, underwriting complex risks, as well as working to identify market trends and customer needs and act as technical point of reference within a team
* Managing and growing a profitable portfolio of business or schemes, managing policies end-to-end with brokers and customers, undertake audits and process reviews and support implementation of changes within the team to policies and processes
* Underwriting high premium and complex risks, new business and renewals, within designated authority, handle complex technical referrals and queries
* Collaborating with other teams to resolve complex underwriting issues, acting as a point of escalation for more junior staff
* Supporting the delivery of good customer outcomes through all activities and deliverables, enabling us to act in good faith towards customers, avoid causing foreseeable harm and enable and support our customers to pursue their financial objectives
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
* Underwriting Expertise: Proven experience in underwriting complex risks, including new business and renewals
* Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of industry regulations, controls, contracts and relevant legislation. Good knowledge of bond wordings and indemnities
* Portfolio Management: Ability to manage and grow a profitable portfolio of business, including end-to-end policy management
* Collaboration and Leadership: Experience working with other teams to confidently discuss the Surety offering and acting as a point of support for Assistant Underwriters
* Customer Focus: Commitment to delivering good customer outcomes, ensuring actions are in good faith, and supporting customers' objectives
